ASF Welcomes Another August of No Harvest of Atlantic Salmon At Greenland

The commercial fishery that targets North American wild Atlantic salmon on their feeding grounds off West Greenland won’t take place this August and that’s great news for future runs of this remarkable species.

Newfoundland Students Release Fish Friends

St. Andrews, NB....Newfoundland school children, participating in the Atlantic Salmon Federation's Fish Friends program, will release thousands of Atlantic salmon fry into the province's streams and rivers between June 17 and June 22.

Federal Gov't Fails to Support Salmon Conservation

St. John's, NL and St. Andrews, NB. The Salmonid Council of Newfoundland and Labrador (SCNL) and the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) are extremely concerned and disappointed that last week's federal budget did not provide any desperately needed new funding to address serious declines in wild Atlantic salmon and trout stocks in Newfoundland and Labrador.
